The American Board of Phlebology Announces Results of 2011 Phlebology Board Exam…Congratulations to:

Charles F. Gould, MD
Certified by the American board of phlebology

On Achievement of Diplomates Status!
Charles Gould, MDReston, Va, June 30, 2011 – The American Board of Phlebology (ABPh) will open its fifth phlebology exam cycle in the fall of 2011, with the exam to be given electronically in April, 2012 using the network Pearson Vue® testing centers in the United Sates and Canada. The fourth class of diplomates for ABPh has just been confirmed. ABPh has now awarded diplomate status to 520 practitioners within the United States and Canada. It is with great pride that we announce the addition of Dr. Charles Gould to this group of diplomates. His certification with the American Board of Phlebology is a direct reflection of his skill, knowledge, and experience in providing quality patient care, and his continued commitment to the advancement of vein care. To become board certified is truly an accomplishment. Less than 1% of all phlebology professionals in the US and Canada have earned certification from the ABPh.
To become an ABPh diplomate, an applicant must complete the requisite training and experience qualifications, meet the continuing medical education requisites, and pass a stringent certification examination. Certification periods are ten years and maintenance is dependent on the ability of the diplomate to display competency in four areas of assessment: evidence of professional standing, evidence of commitment to lifelong-learning and periodic self-assessment, evidence of cognitive expertise and evaluation of performance in practice.

The American Board of Phlebology is an independent, non-profit organization founded in 2007 for the purpose of certifying physicians who have met a defined standard of education, training and knowledge in the field of phlebology.
